Ouachita Valley FCU Scholarship


2024 Graduating High School Seniors

Must be currently attending a public school in the following parishes/school systems:

Caldwell Parish, Franklin Parish, Jackson Parish, Lincoln Parish, Morehouse Parish, Ouachita Parish, Richland Parish, or Monroe City Schools

 
 

To be considered for the scholarship, the applicant must:

  • Applicant or immediate family (mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, or legal guardian) must be a current member in good standing of Ouachita Valley Federal Credit Union

  • Be a graduating senior from high school in the Spring of 2024

  • Maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA throughout high school

  • Scored a 19 or higher on the ACT exam

  • Complete an application and personal essay

  • Must attend a university, college, or technical school in the state of Louisiana

Applicants must return application including:

  • Current official high school transcript

  • Application for Scholarship

  • A copy of official ACT/SAT scores

  • Two letters of recommendation

  • Personal essay not to exceed 500 words (Please provide information including, but not limited to service to your community or stories you would like to share with our committee) 


Completed applications are due no later than March 22, 2024

The scholarship panel will review all applications and the recipients will receive scholarship funds in May for the fall semester. The scholarship will be payable to the attending school of choice to the recipient. Each applicant will be notified by phone if they have been chosen as a scholarship recipient. If a student chooses to not attend in the upcoming fall semester, the scholarship will be awarded to the school intended for attendance. All applications must be the sole, original work of the applicant. Applicant consents to the publication of his or her name, biographical information and likeness in any media for any commercial or promotional purpose.

Any family members of current employees, members of the supervisory committee, or members of the Board of Directors are not eligible for the scholarship.
